With breathtaking views over Halfmoon Bay, Stewart Island Lodge is nestled in lush native bush alive with native birds, including wood pigeons, tūī, and the vibrant kāka, which can often be spotted from the terrace.
Just a five-minute walk from Oban village, the lodge enjoys an elevated position, providing stunning vistas. Please note there is a short hill to access the Lodge which requires a moderate level of fitness, but the effort is well rewarded with the breathtaking view on arrival.
The lodge is centrally heated and features a welcoming lounge and dining area, complemented by an expansive deck to soak in the commanding views of the bay. Each king-sized guest room boasts an ensuite bathroom with a bath, and opens directly onto a shared balcony with panoramic outlooks. Three rooms can also be configured as twin rooms to suit your needs.

Please note, we have a minimum two-night stay for bookings. For a group of up to 12 people, Stewart Island Lodge is also available on an exclusive-use basis, including access to all six bedrooms, the lounge, kitchen, and BBQ facilities. The Lodge is suitable for adults and young adults only (aged 12 years and over) with their family. No children under twelve please.
